In case you were wondering whether it is possible to stand the new George Washington dollar coin on its rim...

Haven't had one of those in my hands yet, but it looks sorta like our Canuck Loonie -- how similar are they?

I don't have one handy, but I do have a Twonie (which I can also stand on edge) to compare. The new buck is just one or two millimeters smaller in diameter, and, of course, it is only one metal, not two. It is the same size as other recent U.S. dollar coins-- the Suzy B and the Golden Papoose-- so, I presume, it will fit in vending machines designed for them.

Did you read my mind wondering if you could do that before or after getting it on edge?

I'll have to swing by my bank sometime and see if they have any available. I'm going to have to do the 'buy the complete set' thing.

Oh I get it now, it's a rim shot.
