Deep in Illinois

The marathon renovation of our Other House continues. This involves many, many trips to Henry and Peoria, and may help explain why you haven't seen much of me here.

I have, however, seen quite a bit of the Zorro sign in the past few weeks. I try to salute him whenever I pass by on my way to the lakeside.

Some kind friends have volunteered to help us next weekend, so there is hope for great progress.

What Other House?

I haven't written about it here. Before she passed away, K's mom lived for several years in a house on Lake Senachwine, a wide spot in the Illinois River north of the town of Henry. We need to get the house ready for sale. It needs lots of work.

I am trying to keep our morale up by various means, sometimes involving ice cream. Discovering Zorro along our path has been a big help. Last night, we played this while driving home.
