Higgins Award Impending

beamjockeyAt the Plaza Hotel in New York, on Wednesday, 13 June, for the first time, the John M. Higgins Award for Best In-Depth/Enterprise Reporting will be given to a worthy journalist. This is part of the annual Mirror Awards from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
I will be there.
The Higgins Award is named for my late brother, a reporter and editor who covered the television industry. The Newhouse School established the award with a gift from Discovery Communications and Time Warner Cable Inc.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of my brother's friends in journalism and the TV industry, and to meeting the kind people of TWC and Discovery, and the Syracuse University people behind the Mirror Awards.
