Google Puts Some Dead Sea Scrolls Online

Apparently Dead Sea Googling is no longer a metaphor. How confusing.

A scholarly friend of mine once explained that more people had traveled in space than had seen all the Dead Sea Scrolls.

He further explained that now that the Scrolls were no longer under the exclusive control of the... I'll use the term lackadasical, but he was more kind... scholars who'd kept them locked up for decades, and now that people with a better understanding of Judiasm were looking at the Scrolls, our understanding of the Scrolls will change radically.

Everyone once in a while I'm amazed that these scrolls (and current ones) are written in Assyrian ("Ashuri") script and not the original Hebrew script...
