Maybe, but I saw it used for years as some sort of naked-eye analogy. Naturally, that's ridiculous (as Stanley Weinbaum kept pointing out at the time, Earth's moon is a naked-eye object from Mars, but you'd never be able to see any detail from the Martian surface), and you're about as likely to see Olympus Mons from here, but it keeps getting used without anyone questioning the logic.
