A Failure in the Barketplace
Jan. 26th, 2011 09:08 amSpeaking of puppies, I inherited from my late brother (the cable-TV journalist) a copy of the legendary demo tape for The Puppy Channel, as described by Molly FitzSimons on This American Life. The idea for a cable channel was elegantly simple: Show, 24 hours a day, footage of playful dogs.
For the record, although I am not much of a dog lover, I think The Puppy Channel was a brilliant idea, and am pleased to know that in the Twenty-First Century, it has been reincarnated as a video Web site.
Nevertheless, I am very fond of the Internet as well, and if puppies do indeed destroy it, I will be sorry to see it go.
