Kurt Bartnik wisely suggested that I should note the Jupiter flyby of the New Horizons probe. Sorry I didn't have time yesterday....

Fresh pictures of the moons, Jupiter movies, a closeup of the Little Red Spot. The spacecraft has stolen speed from Jupiter and is now hurtling toward Pluto, and beyond.

Meanwhile, back at Io, to nobody's surprise, the volcanoes Prometheus and Tvashtar are still in business.
