Feb. 14th, 2007
Our chapter of the National Space Society, the Chicago Space Frontier
Society, has been offered a number of free tickets to an advance preview of
the new film The Astronaut Farmer. You can join us if you like, but you
must act swiftly.
The screening is Thursday, February 22nd, at 7 PM. It will take place at the
AMC Cantera 30 Theatre in Warrenville, Illinois. This is at the corner of
Diehl Road and Winfield Road, just south of the Winfield Road exit on
Interstate 88.
Please understand that there is a limited supply of tickets available for
this screening. Don't ask for tickets unless you can really attend.
If you're attending, please send me e-mail by Thursday afternoon, 15
February, at higgins@fnal.gov.
Tell me THE NAMES OF PERSONS FOR WHOM YOU ARE REQUESTING TICKETS. First
come, first served.
The Astronaut Farmer stars Billy Bob Thornton and Virginia Madsden. It's
directed by Michael Polish and written by Mark and Michael Polish.
IMDB.com offers this synopsis: An astronaut (Thornton) of NASA is forced to
retire so he could save his family farm. But he can't give up his dream of
space travel and looks to build his own rocket, despite the government's
threats to stop him.
As you probably know, the National Space Society is dedicated to bringing about a future of thriving communities beyond the Earth. So The Astronaut Farmer people thought we (and our friends) might be an appreciative audience for this story, hence their kind offer .

Feel free to pass this invitation around to friends and family.
