Takes Your Breath Away!

Ladies and gentlemen, direct to you from the fine folks at Hammacher-Schlemmecher: The Gatling Harmonica.

Before we left Virginia, I was at a wake for the sister of a friend. He had invited two old musicians from the area, one of whom had an ueber-Harmonica that looked like... um... it was sort of Bakelite-looking, about the size of a paperback book. I believe he could change it to other keys with buttons. The pictures I took include it, but I never got the sort of clear diagrammatic shot that would have made the whole thing understandable. If I'd thought to ask, he would have held it for me, but it's one of those things you miss.

At the same event, I missed one of those shots I dream of. It was at a buffet, and the bagpipe player was standing by a salad bar, in full dress kilt, playing away. A couple of yards from him, some go-getter was trying unsuccessfully to have a conversation on his cell phone. By the time I got my camera cranked up, the scene had changed.

Yeah, saw that; for some reason I'm on the HS mailing list.

Wonder how long before something very much like that shows up in _Girl Genius_. ;-)

I like the rollup keyboard.

That's . . . almost scary.

Sweeeet. There are times when I could've used one of those. Given what you get, the price is actually reasonable. I paid over $100 for my Chromonica.
