Brief Thoughts on Seeing WALL-E

AXIOM 2

The film WALL-E stirs a lot of ingredients together, but I was struck by two similarities in particular:

1. The art of John Berkey, my favorite science fiction illustrator.

2. Stan Freberg's 1951 single "John and Marsha."

I thought of John Berkey covers too, especially with the ship design.

Have you seen Buy n Large's website (http://www.buynlarge.com/), by the way? Be sure to read the Privacy Policy.

I was reminded of Thurber's "The Last Flower".

Hmm, the three lower paintings show blank here!

I knew those ships looked familiar!

But I didn't know where I'd seen them. Thanks for the link.
