I'm not sure there is ANY OCR package I'd use for scanning equations, at least past the simple X+Y=Z level. Too many unique symbols or symbols used in ways they are not seen in normal text. I think pages like that *have* to be put in by hand until we get software that's a LOT smarter.

That was one of the worst examples of OCR *fail* I've seen.
